Maiko Mitsuoka

I was a kid who painted everywhere in the house, glued everything together, and collected any kind of materials for future projects. When I was 13 years old, I realised that clothing has strong impact on people’s behaviour. Garments have the power to make people encouraged, pleased, delighted, and confident. I started imagining myself making clothes to encourage others in the future .

I create timeless looks with beautiful exclusive fabrics and design for people who need freedom and courage. I design with a creative mind, a keen eye for detail and an affinity to all things fashion for clients who want to be true to themselves, want to change themselves, and want to change their future. Since I’ve moved to Melbourne, I’ve been strongly impacted by the LGBTIQ+ culture, the presence of racism, the concept of sustainability, and difference in sizes. Now I have a new dream of having my own wedding/couture gown store in Tokyo for people of any gender, age, silhouette, nationality, religion, and personality.

To achieve my goal, I never stop learning and seeking opportunities. Looking to expand my wings and fly high. I love seeing ideas being turned in to a reality. No matter how big or small.
